HOLDCOM DONATES MESSAGE ON HOLD SYSTEM TO MEALS ON WHEELS OF ROCKLAND COUNTY
Helps Agency Spread the Word about Senior Services
GLEN ROCK, NJ – November 10, 2003 - Senior citizens who call Meals on Wheels of Rockland County now will learn that the agency delivers more than just meals, thanks to a new message on hold system and services recently donated by Bergen County-based Holdcom, a leading provider of message on hold services.
Holdcom CEO and co-founder Harvey Edelman said the message on hold system donated to Meals on Wheels consists of a digital announcer that records, stores and plays messages for callers while they are waiting to speak to Meals on Wheels representatives. In addition, Holdcom donated the messages, professionally recorded and produced by some of the area’s best voice talent in the company’s state-of-the-art recording studio in Glen Rock, NJ.
“Meals on Wheels Programs and Services of Rockland has been serving senior citizens for 29 years with its signature homebound meal delivery program, “ said Rochelle S. Berger, executive director. “We currently serve more than 1,500 meals daily, but our services have expanded over the years to include senior centers, an adult daycare program and even a computer lab, called Senior Net, where we teach elderly residents to operate computer programs and surf the Internet.”
“We believe that most people know only about our meals program; the others are the best kept secret in Rockland County. Now, thanks to Holdcom’s generous donation, people who call our office will have the opportunity to hear about all the other programs available to them through Meals on Wheels,” Berger said.
