The foundation of a great voice production is a great script. Whether it's a simple voice mail greeting, a series of auto attendant prompts, a Message On Hold program, a complex IVR menu, or an elaborate eTraining production, everything starts with the word. Rather the words... crisp, sharp copy that has a purpose, a goal, and a rhythm that gets the listener to that goal clearly, efficiently, and effortlessly. In voice production, it's not how the words look on the page. It's how they sound to the ear.
Scripts must be written to effectively reach the target audience using the vocabulary, syntax, and level of complexity that is in synch with the task at hand and the audience. In the modern world, especially the technology world, there is no time for wasted words. Words with no purpose are downsized. Words that make the cut must then be placed where they resonate, where they influence, where they can be remembered and recalled.
