New Life For Newsletters

For many years businesses and organizations found it difficult to maintain the ongoing requirements of publishing and distributing company newsletters.  Although the desire was in place, most small businesses lacked the staffing and resources necessary to support a sustained newsletter initiative. Maintaining continuity and frequency required discipline and follow through, particularly for weekly or monthly publications, and many well-intended campaigns fizzled out after the first few editions.

Fortunately, email and newsletter template publishing software has helped change the landscape, allowing any size business to more efficiently publish and distribute newsletters to any number of customers. Printed hard copies and postage costs have been significantly reduced by newsletter-in-a-box solutions and email delivery. Companies like Constant Contact have paved the way for mass adoption of newsletter campaigns.

Businesses have, for the most part, always recognized the value of communicating with their customer base, and today there is a multitude of ways to accomplish this vital activity.  In addition to email promotions, texting, surveys, newsletters, online media and social networking, telephone systems and call centers continue to provide vital means of contact. And, like newsletters, Message-On-Hold programs provide a cost-effective opportunity to disseminate targeted information to customers and prospects.  No other medium (not even newsletters!) delivers information within such a focused one-on-one environment to such a motivated audience of existing and potential users of your products and services.

So, if you have jumped on the newsletter “bandwagon”, and have implemented Message-On-Hold services, be sure that there is integration between the two.  Many companies and healthcare organizations will coordinate the update frequency of both, and make a point that they share some content.  This alignment between newsletter and Message-On-Hold will reinforce delivery of your timely announcements and promotions, raise awareness of your latest activities and enhance the distribution of valuable information.

TruVoice Enhances Cutting Edge Virtual Tours

VT360HOLDCOM wrapped up 2005 by adding Denver-based VT360 to its roster of strategic partners. VT360 has been the leading innovator in 360-degree image capture and delivery since 1998. Most of you have probably experienced this interactive virtual tour technology and service via hospitality or real estate websites. The superior content that VT360 delivers, enables travelers to preview hotels and resorts in astounding resolution, delivered on high-speed first tier, redundant networks. Each of VT360’s clients, who have experienced a substantial increase of online booking since implementing this technology, are able to easily display their images on multiple travel channels, including Travelocity, Orbitz, Priceline, and over 4500 affiliate travel sites. For years, these visually impressive interactive tours relied solely upon imagery and the user’s ability to manipulate viewing angles. Now, VT360, along with HOLDCOM as its exclusive voice production provider, will launch its new Multi-lingual Voice Narration for Virtual Tours, “TruVoice™”.

The new professional voice addition “TruVoice™” was tested successfully with a sampling of VT360 Tours and the results indicate Internet viewers largely prefer the tours “with voice”.

“We’ve created a smart add-on product that loads externally of the images so the quality remains superior without being bulky”, said Brian Stearns, CEO of VT360. “The multi-lingual aspect enables hotels to achieve true global appeal with very little effort. This product stands out as a very worthy upgrade for the older ‘image only’ virtual tours,” added Stearns.

Annie Fitzsimmons, Communications Coordinator of The Phoenician, was ebullient about the innovation. “VT360 tours with voice narration is amazing. The voice adds quick info to our images, allowing us to truly walk the end-user through our product. We are able to deliver so much more information in a better way and the quality is crystal clear with no extra loading

VT360’s TruVoice™ program offers narration in any language, including exotics. The preferred language can be selected by the end-user on the start of the tour. The narration waits for the image to load and then syncs for a smart playback, narrating the visual that the end-user is viewing.

“We estimate this new product will make many of the older tours seem lifeless. The increase in global viewership will make this add-on product a great enhancement. In addition, this new product, with voice, will be distributed onto our network of thousands of travel sites,” said Stearns.

HOLDCOM President, Neil Fishman, added: “The HOLDCOM team has once again distinguished itself by being selected as VT360’s exclusive voice production partner. We share Brian’s vision regarding the potential of this robust, innovative media solution and look forward to contributing to its continued success.” Fishman invites you to experience a VT360 virtual tour with TruVoice™ at http://www.vt360.com/hyatt/flash/.

February 2006 – Client of The Month – Reproductive Science Center

This month, HOLDCOM is proud to honor Reproductive Science Center, a state-of-the- art fertility center, as our Client of the Month for February 2006.

Reproductive Science Center uses Holdcom Message On HoldAccording to Gary D’Orsi, Manager of Sales and Marketing, HOLDCOM’s Message-On-Hold programs have been “a terrific service to us. First, we use the service to communicate with our patients, letting them know everything from the services we provide, to locations, to special events we may be holding.” He continued to say “We also use our message to target potential patients who are in the process of making a decision on where to go. We strategically designed our message to give them the key facts they need to know.”

Gary also uses the Message-On-Hold program to promote the Center’s website.

How does Gary like working with HOLDCOM? “HOLDCOM has been very user friendly. I don’t have to think about when a change is needed, I get an email reminder or a phone follow up, submit a change, and it is done. If only every part of business was this easy and effective.”

Congratulations again to Reproductive Science Center!
