Real Beats Fake Every Time If you've been to any celebrations recently, you may have noticed the explosion of gift bags and gift cards. What happened to the old-fashioned traditional gift with the nice wrapping paper and ribbons and bows? There's something special about receiving and opening a gift that shows some thought from the giver. They not only took more time to consider what would suit you, they also took the time to neatly gift-wrap, complete with ribbons and a well-placed bow. No matter what's inside, it feels special. There is an anticipation as you slowly remove the adornments to discover what's inside, as opposed to fishing around inside a gift bag or sliding your finger across the back of a gift card envelope. |

The economy is in the dumper. Unemployment is rising. The business climate looks dire. So what do we do here at Holdcom? Time for a make-over. At Holdcom, we’re optimistic about the future, optimistic about our future, and excited about the challenges and changes ahead in the fast-approaching future. Over the past couple of years, we’ve been innovating our internal systems, bringing on new software solutions, and realigning our human resources to meet the challenges ahead.
Most reading this will never see the newly redecorated Holdcom offices (although we welcome one and all to stop by and see us if you’re in the neighborhood), but we think you’ll feel it in the continuous dedication and excitement that our Holdcom team feels in meeting the challenges of the future and enthusiastically fulfilling our clients’ needs.

Originally published in CRM Magazine The Secret to using LinkedIn lies between your keyboard and chair. The more I discuss LinkedIn as a social media tool, the more I’m asked, "How can I use LinkedIn more effectively?" My first response is usually a question: Do you want to find someone, or do you want to be found? The context and goal of your search will dramatically change how you use this tool. Are you looking to hire someone, or are you looking for a job? Do you have a product or service to offer, or are you looking to purchase a product or service for your business? Once you know what you are looking for, then you can decide how to present yourself to the world.

To match and complement our changing psychological and virtual perspective, we’ve rethought, remodeled, repainted, and refurnished our Holdcom digs. Out with many cubicles, in with comfortable meeting areas. Out with drab business beige and in with vibrant colors and light. This is where we live a good part of our waking hours; where we think of ways to help ourselves and help our clients. We want this thinking to be enlightened by comfort and light, not darkened and stifled by walls, stiffness and blandness.
With the holidays soon upon us and desserts plentiful, try this popular internet quiz to see what your desserts say about you. It's a great one to share with your coworkers and friends.
Maybe you've noticed it...ever so subtly, creeping up on you when you least expect it. No, this isn't a Halloween article; that was last month. But even BEFORE Halloween, it started.
As the American economy continues to shift from manufacturing products and hardware to providing knowledge-based and virtual services, opportunities for audio marketing abound. The Internet search engine giants like Google and Yahoo, combined with the growing adaptation of social networking utilities like Linked In, Facebook and Twitter, have raised the curtain on Act II of the Information Age. And, since information is rapidly abandoning the print medium for video and audio, it is no wonder that You Tube has become such a prolific forum for sharing ideas, images, entertainment and knowledge. Not too long ago, (pre-You Tube) companies would digitize their marketing presentations and distribute them on mini-discs to prospects. Today, a simple link to You Tube can accomplish the same result, without the expense and effort of reproducing and mailing physical media. Certainly, one video/audio presentation posted online for many to access is far superior to creating and delivering man
